Independent Airport Parking Association member APH has opened a new secure car park to improve its already popular park and ride service at Gatwick airport.
The new location at Copthorne Road in Crawley is easier to reach from the M23, which is the main link road for Gatwick, and is two miles closer to the airport, helping cut transfer times for customers to just 12 minutes.
APH has also added new peak time dedicated bus services to both Gatwick’s North and South terminals, giving travellers direct transfers for the quickest, simplest travel experience.
As well as improving access and transfer times for customers, the new site will also have considerable impact on APH’s environment performance over the next 10 years.
The site’s new reception building uses photovoltaic roof panels to convert sunlight into power, and the shorter journey distances will cut the fuel consumption by 1.2 million litres and lower C02 output by 2,100 tonnes over the decade.
Ed Hayes, IAPA’s deputy chairman says: “We always welcome investment from offsite airport parking operators and this development will give travellers an even higher quality parking option at one of the UK’s busiest airports.
“Offsite airport parking with IAPA members is the easiest way for travellers to save money and get peace of mind airport parking.”
